PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEOGRAPHY, COPYWRITING, AND CONSULTING
FREELANCING ON AND OFFLINE
In my freetime, I love to freelance. When I'm not working on music, hiking, or playing the Nintendo Switch, I always seem to find myself working on some kind of small side project. What can I say, I'm obssessed with storytelling.
Here are some projects I've worked on.
STRLING Music Video - Behind The Scenes Photos (Sep 2021)
Two late nights in early September, I photographed and videotaped behind the scenes footage of Chicago Alt-Pop Duo STRLING's music video shoot for their song "Effortlessly". I tried to capture moments of self expression, fearlessness, and glam. Above are candid pictures of "The Glam Monster", and below are some highlights of the band/cast from before, during, and after the video shoot. Both the music video and the BTS videos are still in editing.
Future Founders - Founder Interview Series (Feb-Apr 2021)
In early 2021, Future Founders reached out to me to see if I would be interested in freelancing some writing pieces for their website & blog. For 3 months, I conducted interviews with a wide array of students & entrepreneurs in the Future Founders Network. Not only did I get to have one-on-one conversations with successful innovators, I got to share their stories with my own voice and writing style. These stories were then used to attract new program applicants and funding for the Future Founders program. For me, the most rewarding aspect of this experience was putting the founders' brands in front of new customers, myself included.
Forest & Found Thrift Store - Homecoming Campaign (Oct 2019)
In Fall of 2019 during my Senior year at Lake Forest College, I did some freelance marketing and social media work for a local thrift store in Lake Forest named Forest & Found. On a weekly basis, I would go into the shop and setup display cases, dress mannequins, and zhoosh other collectables, all to later photograph and share them on their social media accounts. I developed their first ever LFC sale event for Homecoming that year by picking outfits, photographed models, and creating multimedia flyers for around campus. The sale doubled the amount of foot traffic that weekend, and was a fashionable success.
ChiME Virtual Job Fair - Consulting & Video Project (Dec 2020 - Feb 2021)
Around Christmas time in 2020, I was approached by a family friend who serves on the board of the Chaplaincy Institue of Maine (ChiME), asking for my help with a special project. Usually, ChiME held in-person job fairs to connect alumni with recent graduates of their program, however, due to COVID 19 they could not hold the event that year.
Tasked with creating a virtual job-fair, I developed an alumni outreach strategy, questions, content standards/guidelines, and a contact list to ultimately create a multi-purpose video for the Institue. With limited time and budget, I ended up producing and editing the video as well. Since then, ChiME has used the full video and portions of the video for recruitment and networking purposes.
