PROFESSIONALY WORKING IN CHICAGO
MARKETING, DEVELOPMENT, & PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Living on campus at Lake Forest College for all 4 years was strenuous on my obsession with Chicago. Thankfully, I got the chance to move downtown for a semester my Junior year as part of LFC’s “In The Loop” program, where I interned at Stewart Talent Agency. There, I learned the ins-and-outs of the performing arts industry. And while this was my first professional position in Chicago, I was able to give myself my own title of "Creative Intern", since I handled a plethora of projects ranging from resume building, content creation, and scouting fresh talent.
In February of 2020, I landed an amazing opportunity with Future Founders, a nonprofit that believes every youth can become an entrepreneur. Little did I know that just a month later, the entire world and workforce would shift online due to COVID-19. Luckily, I was kept on the team part-time for the next year in a virtual environment, able to develop my skills as a professional in the modern age.
At Future Founders, I participated in everything from program management, digital marketing, creating drip campaigns, event planning, writing stories about entrepreneurs, conducting partner outreach, and more. I handled a busy, multimedia content calendar, and despite being only a part-time employee, I developed years worth of marketing experience under the guidance of their Senior Directory of Marketing & Strategy, Kelly Bertog. I even played a virtual show for a retreat and created their theme song as their “in-house” musician.
Since March of 2021, I've been working at the James R. Jordan Foundation, a nonprofit that empowers students and families through education and partnerships. As their Marketing Multimedia Coordinator, I've had the opportunity to revitalize their marketing channels post-pandemic. I've been able to photograph and interview South and West-side CPS students to share stories of the underserved communities of Chicago in this position. I also work closely with our board and partners to understand the needs of our schools.
Check out some writing examples and projects I developed in their entirety for each organization below.
